Reporters Without Borders (RSF) Turkey Representative and Bianet’s Media Monitoring Report preparator Erol Önderoğlu received the 2018 Freedom of Speech and Expression Award of the Roosevelt Foundation with a ceremony organized in the Netherlands.
RSF Secretary General Christophe Deloire said that it is an encouraging honour for the entire RSF for Önderoğlu to receive such an award. “We are proud of Önderoğlu’s dedication to defend press freedom and plurality in Turkey. He is a prominent figure for journalists and rights advocates in the world. We call the Turkish authorities to end the unlawful judicial procedures against journalists,” stated Deloire.
