Journalist Mehmet Andaç, who reported on an investigation into a businessman arrested in Çanakkale’s Gelibolu district on charges of sexually abusing two children, was detained. Andaç said he had produced the report as part of his journalistic activity and had taken no other action. After police procedures, Andaç was referred to the Gelibolu Courthouse and released after giving a statement to the prosecutor. Andaç said in his statement that he had been asked about his news sources but had not disclosed them.
