İzmir Labor and Democracy Forces organized a march and press statement in Alsancak to protest detentions and arrests in the “Ailem Güvende” operations. Police prevented the group from unfurling a banner and surrounded participants after an LGBTİ+ flag was not allowed into the statement area. DİSK Aegean Regional Representative Deniz Şahin Gümüştekin read the press statement and criticized the operations targeting LGBTİ+ people. After the statement, police intervened with pepper spray and detained two people.
