Hüseyin Aykan, editor-in-chief of Bolu Gündem Gazetesi, was arrested on 11 September after reporting an allegation that a business in Göksu Nature Park charged visitors above the official tariff. The report used an image that had previously been published on social media and was not taken by Aykan. The Journalists’ Association of Türkiye said the report served the public interest, objected to Aykan’s arrest over journalistic activity and called for his release.
