A lawsuit was filed against 7 journalists who covered the final hearing of the Kobanê Trial on May 16, 2024 for recording the protests during the hearing. In the indictment prepared as a result of the investigation initiated by the Ankara 22nd High Criminal Court, journalists Damla Kırmızıtaş, Derya Okatan Albayrak, Fatih Polat, Fırat Can Arslan, Handan Ceren Bayar, Hüseyin Hayatsever and Kaan Can Bircan were charged with “unauthorized audio and video recording in the trial”. The court accepted the case.
