According to the May 2025 report of Dicle Fırat Journalists Association (DFG), rights violations against journalists in Turkey continued to increase. The report stated that 5 journalists were detained, 3 of them were arrested, 78 journalists were tried in 43 different cases and 4 of them were sentenced. In addition, 10 journalists were subjected to investigations and access to 465 social media content was banned. 454 videos of Grup Yorum and YouTube channels of some journalists were blocked in Turkey on national security grounds. The report noted that 31 journalists are currently in prison.
