The objection made on the local court decree in the lawsuit filed against 20 Contemporary Lawyers Association (ÇHD) members due to “establishing and managing a terrorist organisation” and “terrorist organisation membership” was denied by the appeal court. The decree issued against lawyers Didem Baydar Ünsal, Yaprak Türkmen, Ayşegül Çağatay, Yağmur Ereren Evin, Ahmet Mandacı and Zehra Özdemir, who received sentences shorter than 5 years with a decree issued by 2nd Criminal Chamber of Istanbul Regional Court, was thus finalised. Six lawyers will remain arrested within the lawsuit. 12 lawyers, on the other hand, who received imprisonment sentences for longer than five years, have the opportunity to object at the Court of Cassation.
