Ajansa Welat (AW) reporter Roni Rubar İmen was detained in Şırnak’s Cizre district on his way to the Federated Kurdistan Region.
It is reported that İmen was stopped and detained at the entrance of the district on the grounds of “denunciation” and then taken to Şırnak Provincial Security Directorate.
Speaking to his lawyer, İmen said that he was beaten and forced to listen to racist music during the detention and transfer.
The journalist, whose phone was confiscated, is expected to be sent to the courthouse tomorrow.
