The Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office launched an investigation against İYİ Party Deputy Group Chair Turhan Çömez over his statements claiming that a riot broke out at Sincan No. 1 Prison. The prosecutor’s office said it opened the investigation ex officio under Article 217/A of the Turkish Penal Code for “publicly disseminating misleading information.”
