Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office requested an investigation permit from the Ministry of Interior against Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mansur Yavaş and his Chief of Staff Nevzat Uzunoğlu as part of a “concert investigation”.
The investigation was launched with the allegation that the concerts organized between 2021 and 2024 caused public damage. The Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office claimed that the municipality incurred a loss of over 154 million TL in 32 concert service procurements.
Yavaş emphasized that the process is political, saying, “Don’t make justice a political tool,” and said, “We are ready to testify voluntarily if they call us.”
CHP Group Deputy Chair Ali Mahir Başarır and Deputy Chair Gül Çiftci also stated that the investigation is a political campaign, not a legal one.
