Workers from Doruk Madencilik and Elazığ Eti Gümüş Mine, both affiliated with Yıldızlar SSS Holding, tried to go to the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources in Ankara to demand unpaid wages and compensation. Police surrounded the workers at the exit of the Milli Kütüphane Metro Station and intervened against the group as they tried to march to the ministry. Nearly 80 people, including Bağımsız Maden-İş President Gökay Çakır and union officials, were detained. Eti Gümüş workers demanded unpaid wages and severance pay, while Doruk Madencilik workers demanded wages for periods of unpaid leave, union compensation and notice pay.
