Istanbul Anatolia Chief Prosecutor’s Office launches disinformation investigation: Access blocked to Ultimatom account

The Istanbul Anatolia Duty Criminal Court of Peace issued a decision to block access to the social media account named “Ultimatom” at the request of the Chief Prosecutor’s Office.

The Chief Prosecutor’s Office announced that the investigation was initiated under Article 217/A of the Turkish Penal Code for the crime of “Publicly Disseminating Misleading Information.”

A memorandum was sent to the Information and Communications Technologies Authority (BTK) for the implementation of the blocking decision.
