Academics at Boğaziçi University held a press conference on campus on June 5 in support of Prof. Dr. Tuna Tuğcu, a faculty member in the Department of Computer Engineering who was dismissed from public service. Eğitim Sen and Boğaziçi University Alumni described the dismissal decision as an attack on academic freedom and university autonomy. Tuğcu stated that he has faced investigations and administrative pressure for nearly four years and announced that he will pursue legal action against the decision.
