At the 44th hearing of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality case, an investigation was launched into the gendarmes on duty following the display of “Happy Birthday” banners in the courtroom to mark Ekrem İmamoğlu’s birthday. The hearing took place on June 4 in the courtroom located within the Marmara Prison complex. Gendarmerie units also intervened regarding a poster bearing İmamoğlu’s photograph during the hearing.
