On June 4, the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office ruled that it lacked jurisdiction in the investigation it was conducting into CHP Chairman Özgür Özel and CHP lawmakers Veli Ağbaba, Umut Akdoğan, and Suat Özçağdaş, and referred the case to the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office. The prosecutor’s office stated that findings had been made suggesting actions aimed at influencing the will of delegates at the CHP’s 38th Ordinary Congress, which could warrant the preparation of an indictment.
