The legal proceedings for the 54 suspects detained in the corruption investigation conducted by the İzmir Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office targeting the Buca Municipality and its affiliates were completed on June 5. The prosecutor’s office referred 51 individuals, including Buca Mayor Görkem Duman, to the criminal court of first instance with a request for their detention. The investigation file included allegations of bribery, irregular zoning procedures, bid-rigging, and the misuse of municipal funds for personal purposes.
