Two Halkev members, who were detained in Izmir for hanging a banner reading “Murderer in the Palace” during the commemoration of the October 10 Ankara Massacre, were referred to the courthouse on charges of “insulting the President”.
After their statements to the prosecutor’s office, they were referred to the court with the demand for arrest, but were released by the criminal court of peace on judicial control conditions.
“No matter what you do, we will continue to shout out the perpetrators of the October 10 Massacre everywhere,” Halkevleri said in a statement.
The detentions took place after the commemoration event organized by Izmir Labor and Democracy Forces for the 10th anniversary of the Ankara Train Station Massacre.
