The promotion of the biographical movie about the life of Zeki Müren was banned by the court. The Turkish Armed Forces Mehmetçik Foundation and the Turkish Education Foundation, the artist’s heirs, had filed a lawsuit after producer Mustafa Uslu showed the promotional film at various festivals. The court, finding the foundations’ complaint justified, banned the screening of the promotional film and ordered that the flash drive containing the film be kept in the court safe.
The court also ordered an expert to examine the film and determine its relevance to Zeki Müren’s life.
Zeki Müren’s heirs also opposed the filming of the movie and had previously made attempts to stop the production process.
