Thirty-five people, including Mayor Ali Ercan Akpolat, who was detained as part of the investigation into Adalar Municipality, were arrested. The Istanbul Anadolu Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office investigated the suspects on charges of bribery, extortion, forgery of official documents, establishing and leading a criminal organisation, abuse of office and violation of legislation on the protection of cultural and natural assets. Seven others were placed under judicial supervision.
