The Bakırköy Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office launched an investigation on February 18, 2026, into social media phenomenon Deniz Sinan Demir for “inciting hatred and hostility or insulting the public” due to comments he made during a live broadcast on an online platform. The prosecutor’s office instructed the Security Branch of the Provincial Police Department to identify Demir, take him into custody, search him, and seize his property.
