On February 11, 2025, Istanbul 23rd High Criminal Court ruled for the continuation of detention for 10 municipality executives who were detained in operations on February 11, 2025 and are on trial for allegedly being placed in municipalities in connection with the organization as part of the “Urban Consensus”. The arrested defendants include several municipal council members and presidential advisors. The lawyers stated that they will file a criminal complaint against the prosecutors who prepared the indictment.
The defenses emphasized that the indictment lacks concrete evidence and that democratic activities are presented as evidence of crime. The verdict was protested in front of the courthouse by DEM Party Istanbul Co-Chair Arife Çınar.
The court adjourned the hearing to September 18.
