Journalist Diren Yurtsever was acquitted of “revealing the identities of informers” for two news articles published during her term as the Managing Editor of Mezopotamya Agency. The Istanbul 23rd High Criminal Court had acquitted him on the grounds that “the material elements of the crime did not occur”. However, the prosecutor appealed the verdict to the Court of Appeal, finding it “against the law in terms of procedure and substance”. The prosecutor demanded Yurtsever to be sentenced under Articles 6/3 and 6/4 of the Anti-Terror Law No. 3713.
