The Constitutional Court ruled that the right to life of 9-year-old Veysel Atılgan, who lost his life in the October 10, 2015 Ankara Train Station Massacre, was not violated.
The Court found the application inadmissible on the grounds that it was “manifestly baseless”.
The massacre killed 103 people, including Veysel and his father İbrahim Atılgan. The family had won partial compensation in their lawsuit against the Ministry of Interior and the Ankara Governorate.
However, after the Council of State’s reversal decision, the case was returned to the regional court, and at the end of the process, the Constitutional Court concluded that there was no evidence of a violation of the right to life.
The decision was announced just before the 10th anniversary of the October 10 massacre.
