According to Jinnews’ October tally (https://jinnews.net/TUM-HABERLER/content/view/266625), 25 women and 1 child were killed, while 8 women and 3 children died under suspicious circumstances. The Platform to Stop Women’s Murders identified 19 murders of women and 22 suspicious deaths. According to the report, most of the women were killed in their homes by men close to them.
According to Bianet’s data, out of 73 cases seen in October, 36 resulted in verdicts; 17 were severe sentences, and 7 resulted in acquittal or release. While penalties in women’s murder cases increased, the trend of reductions and releases in harassment and abuse cases continued.
