The fifth hearing of the case against journalist Barış Terkoğlu and retired military prosecutor Ahmet Zeki Üçok on charges of “repeatedly insulting a public official” was held at the Istanbul 2nd Criminal Court of First Instance. The court postponed the case until April 28, 2026.
The prosecutor requested that both defendants be punished. Üçok claimed that the High Council of Judges and Prosecutors (HSK) had made “false statements” to the court, while Terkoğlu said, “I am facing the chief prosecutor, but I only want justice.” The court rejected the testimony of retired prosecutor Gökalp Kökçü, who had been requested to be heard as a witness at this stage.
