A lawsuit was filed against 17 students who were detained during the 11th METU Pride March in 2023, two years later. The students will be charged with “participating in unlawful assembly and march”. In the indictment, holding hands and being closed to dialog were considered as criminal evidence. During the police intervention, rubber bullets and pepper spray were used during the march, and some of the students were detained for 11 hours, some of whom were injured. The trial will be held on December 16, 2025 at Ankara 50th Criminal Court of First Instance.
