On March 8, Bahar Aslan, the assistant principal of Fındıklı TOBB İmam Hatip High School, who was suspended from her job for hanging posters at the school, has not been reinstated for 19 months despite winning two lawsuits.
Hamza Kutay, Chairman of Eğitim-İş Rize Branch, stated that the unlawful decisions taken by the Rize Provincial Directorate of National Education negatively affect not only teachers, but also the public budget and the quality of education. Kutay reminded that teacher Yücel Yıldırımkaya, who went through a similar process, was unjustly suspended.
According to Kutay, the cost of the lawsuits filed so far alone has exceeded 125 thousand TL and these costs are covered by the taxes of the public. Eğitim-İş pointed out that the dismissals are political and arbitrary and demanded the immediate reinstatement of the teachers.
