President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan filed a 500 thousand TL lawsuit against CHP Chairman Özgür Özel for moral damages. The lawsuit was filed at the Ankara Civil Court of First Instance on the grounds of the statements made by Özel after the July 5 meeting of the executive committee.
Erdoğan also filed a criminal complaint with the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office. The charges include “insulting the President” and “threatening” under Article 310/2 of the Turkish Penal Code.
