Sendika.Org journalist Ozan Cırık and journalists Dicle Baştürk, Eylem Emel Yılmaz and Yavuz Akengin were transferred from Artvin Prison to high security prisons in Erzurum and Erzincan without informing their lawyers.
On June 13, the journalists, whose homes were raided and detained as part of an Artvin-based investigation and who were later arrested, were transferred without informing their lawyers. Dicle Baştürk and Eylem Emel Yılmaz were sent to Erzincan Closed Prison, while Ozan Cırık and Yavuz Akengin were sent to Erzurum H Type Prison.
The arrest of the journalists and the subsequent transfer of the journalists is seen as a new concern in the context of violations of press freedom.
