The Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ) called on Turkish authorities to respond to threats against Mezopotamya Agency reporter Zeynep Durgut, who uncovered a “prostitution ring” in Şırnak. CPJ emphasized that Durgut’s safety must be ensured and the threats must be seriously investigated. CPJ Turkey Representative Özgür Öğret said it is unacceptable for journalists to be threatened for their reporting. Durgut was reportedly threatened by the Tatar family.
