Beyoğlu District Governorate banned all outdoor activities in and around Taksim ahead of the LGBTI+ Pride March scheduled for June 29, 2025. Taksim Square, Gezi Park, Sıraselviler and all routes from İstiklal Street to Tunnel will be closed to pedestrian and vehicle traffic for 24 hours starting at midnight. The decision was based on the grounds that calls for gatherings on social media could disrupt public order and social peace. The ban will also prevent gatherings, leafleting and sit-ins.
