Human Rights Association (IHD) Izmir Branch called for the immediate release of Felem Aker, a seriously ill prisoner in Van T Type Women’s Closed Prison, and for her to be treated under healthy conditions. In the statement made in front of Konak Eski Sümerbank, it was stated that Aker was deprived of her right to treatment despite her serious health problems such as abdominal pains, digestive problems, suspicion of Hashimoto’s thyroiditis, asthma and neurological attacks after her surgery. It was reminded that a guardian was appointed for Aker by a court decision and that he is unable to stay in prison. IHD emphasized that legal rights of sick prisoners should be applied without discrimination
