The police intervened in the street exhibition “12 Barricades” opened in Beşiktaş Barbaros Square on the 12th anniversary of the Gezi Resistance. 17 works in the exhibition consisting of works by 30 artists were confiscated for “inspection”. During the intervention, a visual that read “Trans murders are political”, a rainbow flag and Gezi photographs were targeted. One of the artists reported that the police said, “Do you think it is legal to be an LGBT person in Turkey?” The exhibition aimed to keep the memory of Gezi and social struggles alive.
