PEN International has called on Turkish authorities to drop the investigation into Kurdish writer Mehmet Dicle and ZİZ Publishing House over the novel *Berfa Sor*. The fictional book, which tells the story of a guerrilla fighter’s parents, is being targeted under “terror propaganda” charges following its discovery in a Yozgat prison. Authorities translated excerpts from Kurdish and claimed they supported the PKK. PEN condemned the case as absurd and emblematic of growing repression of Kurdish literature and free expression in Turkey.
