On June 3, the Supreme Election Board explained why it had rejected the CHP’s appeal against the ruling declaring the party’s 38th Ordinary Congress null and void. The Board stated that decisions by regional courts of appeal cannot be reviewed under election law and that the Supreme Court is the competent authority in such disputes. The YSK also emphasized that matters concerning the annulment of political party congresses fall within the jurisdiction of the judicial system.
