The justice campaign launched by students at Van Yüzüncü Yıl University for Rojin Kabaiş, whose lifeless body was found on campus, continued on its 24th day under police blockade. Students staging a sit-in in front of the rectorate building demanding “justice” and a “safe campus” faced the threat of detention.
Police took the IDs and facial photos of some students and conducted GBT checks without justification. Journalists attempting to cover the protest were prevented from filming by shields. The students announced they would continue their vigil for justice until Rojin Kabaiş’s death was clarified.
