CHP Information Technology Officer O.G.E. was detained as part of an investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office. The prosecutor’s office stated that the reason for the detention was the unlawful collection of personal data through the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality’s “HANEM” application.
It was stated that the investigation was conducted within the scope of “Ekrem İmamoğlu’s criminal organization for profit.” According to the prosecutor’s office, it is alleged that data from the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality was matched with information belonging to 11.36 million voters and that this data was used in connection with the election records obtained by the CHP from the Supreme Election Board (YSK). It was reported that the investigation is continuing in depth.
