The prosecutor did not present a final opinion again in the trial of IBB Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu regarding his term as Mayor of Beylikdüzü Municipality. The hearing held at Büyükçekmece 10th Criminal Court of First Instance was postponed to October 24. Imamoğlu’s lawyers demanded acquittal, but the newly appointed judge gave time for the prosecutor to make a closing statement. CHP Group Deputy Chairman Gökhan Günaydın stated that the case was being used as a tool of political pressure and that the target period of the judiciary had been exceeded. Günaydın emphasized that the case was filed years later, that expert reports showed that there was no public damage, and that despite this, no opinion was given.
