It emerged on June 8 that access to the Instagram account of LGBT+ social media influencer Mükremin Gezgin, which has over 400,000 followers, had been blocked in Turkey on June 7. According to journalist İsmail Saymaz, the decision was made at the request of the Ministry of Family and Social Services. Gezgin had been released from prison on June 4.
