Demolition orders for illegal sections of some buildings on the Bosphorus have started to be implemented. However, Istanbul 4th Criminal Judicature of Peace blocked access to news about these decisions on the grounds of “national security and public order” with its decision dated July 11, 2025. Journalist Bahadır Özgür emphasized that the access ban has nothing to do with the illegal sections of businesses such as Baylan Patisserie, Bebek Fish Store and Mandarin Hotel and stated that the decision may be aimed at stopping the demolition.
