The Erzurum Hınıs Criminal Court of First Instance sentenced Zafer Party leader Ümit Özdağ to 87 days in prison for “insulting the memory of a person” over a social media post about Şeyh Said. The court converted the sentence to a judicial fine of 8,700 lira and decided to defer the announcement of the verdict.
