The İzmir Bar Association issued a statement regarding the death of Michael Adufu, a Ghanaian citizen, following his detention, hospitalization, and imprisonment. The Bar Association stated that Adufu was unable to receive necessary medical care during the process that spanned from the hospital to detention and from the courthouse to prison, and described the incident as a violation of the right to life. Izmir Bar Association President Sefa Yılmaz criticized the decision to dismiss the case and called for an effective investigation into those responsible.
