The fifth hearing of the case concerning the killing of Seyithan Durdu, who lost his life as a result of shots fired by soldiers in the Avzêrk neighborhood of Serav (Saray) district in Van, was held on January 13 at the Van 1st Heavy Penal Court. Durdu’s family, his lawyers, and Van Bar Association President Sinan Özaraz attended the hearing, which the accused soldiers did not attend. The lawyers requested that the footage from the police station cameras on the day of the incident be re-examined by an expert. The court accepted the request and postponed the hearing until April 8 to complete the missing documents.
