Members of the Peace Mothers Council, protesting the attacks on the Kurdish and Syriac neighborhoods of Sheikh Maksud and Ashrafiya in Aleppo, gathered in front of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Ankara on January 13. Police blocked the mothers’ march with barricades. Despite the obstruction, the Peace Mothers made a press statement demanding the resignation of Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan for his statements supporting the attacks and calling for an end to the war. After the statement, the group marched to the Ankara branch of the Human Rights Association.
