Presenter Boğaç Soydemir and guest Enes Akgündüz, who were on trial for the joke on the YouTube channel “Cold War”, were sentenced to 7 months and 15 days in prison for “inciting or insulting the public to hatred and hostility”. The court ruled for their release considering the duration of their imprisonment. The defendants stated that the remarks were not intentional and that they apologized afterwards.
