In its 579th week, Freedom for Sick Prisoners Initiative demanded the immediate release of Hatice Onaran, who is 79% disabled and undergoing cancer treatment.
Ömer Faruk Yazmacı, Co-Chair of IHD Ankara Branch, stated that Onaran is being held in Gebze Women’s Closed Prison and her right to treatment is prevented.
“Handcuffed examination was imposed, special nutrition conditions were not provided, and the risk of recurrence and spread of cancer increased,” Yazmacı said.
