The Constitutional Court ruled that the right to personal liberty and security of former HDP MP Hüda Kaya, who was arrested for the October 6-8 Kobanê events, was violated. The Court also considered the restriction of access to the investigation file as a violation of rights. Kaya was ordered to pay a net 200 thousand TL in non-pecuniary damages. In its reasoning, the Constitutional Court emphasized that the legal basis for the arrest was not sufficient and that there was no causal link between the violent incidents and Kaya.
