Boğaziçi University Political Science academic Volkan Çıdam was banned from entering the campus. The reason given was that he “participated in a backbiting protest”. In a statement on his social media account, Çıdam emphasized that he had exercised his constitutional right to protest and announced that he had filed a lawsuit against the ban. Çıdam, who had previously announced that he had not been reappointed despite meeting all the criteria for appointment, considered the decision as political.
