The regulation, authorising the Radio and Television Supreme Council (RTÜK) with monitoring internet publications, was published on the official gazette. According to the regulation, media service providers wanting to present their publications on the internet must receive a publication license from RTÜK first. Thus, all publications, movies and series, broadcast of TV series online, all individual TV network initiatives and citizen journalism were taken under monitoring. This legal amendment has passed the Parliament last year and received reactions due to debates of “censorship” at the time.
