The court acquitted 8 people who broke through the police barricade during the protests organized in Beyazıt Square following the detention of Ekrem İmamoğlu, the Mayor of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality. Istanbul 58th Criminal Court of First Instance found all 8 people, including 7 young people, on trial for “participating in unlawful meetings and marches” not guilty.
